Bedtime Turmeric Latte

Bedtime Turmeric Latte

Turmeric lattes are the perfect bedtime drink. All you need is one steaming cup of this creamy, comforting drink and you’re ready for a good night’s sleep. Turmeric latte or “golden milk” is also a phenomenal drink if you have a headache, need some vitamin boost or feel flu-like symptoms creeping up! It’s nature’s medicine in a warm, cozy mug.

I personally love having it before bedtime because it calms my nervous system down while improving my immune system during my sleep! Here are some other golden health benefits:

  • Reduces inflammation
  • Improves mood
  • Supports brain function
  • Improves memory
  • Boosts immune system
  • Helps with digestion
  • Accelerates recovery
  • Helps you have a restful sleep
  • Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing

Let’s talk flavour

Turmeric latte tastes warm, slightly earthy, sweet and savoury at the same time. It’s tricky to describe but to sum it up in one word: cozy! You just have to give it a try! If you prefer a sweeter latte, you can adjust the earthy taste with honey/maple syrup. I prefer a warm cup at night, but you can definitely make this into an iced latte. An iced version of this latte makes the most refreshing, detoxifying summer drink. Take it up a notch and add a few swirls of real whipped cream on top. So yummy!

Here are all the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Plant-based milk
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric powder
  • Maple syrup (or honey)
  • Smooth peanut butter (or almond butter)
  • Vanilla extract
  • cinnamon

You can also add a couple pinches of black pepper and nutmeg if you prefer more warm spices.
